I often get asked by family and other “how do you know this stuff”? I usually respond with something like “I don’t know, I just read a lot” and laugh a little. Truth is, that’s not how I learn. That’s not to say I don’t read, but I learn by teaching others, that method of learning works best for me. So even if I don’t truly understand something, I can help others learn it and by doing that I help myself learn it.
This is by no means a secret, I created a website CSS Tips & Tricks to help myself and others. Now I have been using CSS for a long time and I know it quite well, but as new things are added CSS3 and such, I can learn and teach it at the same time. The point of this post is. If you’re having trouble learning something, try teaching it to someone else, if could even be someone like your mother or father. Just saying out loud what you have learned helps you understand it better. Sometimes all it takes is a little repetition.
